That’s not to say the Apple iPad Tablet will be a sales failure, in relative terms of course, but from what I can see, COWON isn’t taking this MID (mobile Internet device) or Tablet business seriously. The COWON W2 just doesn’t cut it, if you ask me, even if it can run Windows 7 as it surely can. This is Korea’s revered COWON, the company that actually, in my opinion, predicted the future of a portable Tablet with the P5 PMP. With the Q5 PMP it has also paved the way for MIDS and UMPCs. How serious the company really is in selling the boxy W2 is anyone’s guess. It’s a 4.8-inch touchscreen device with Windows 7 and is rated by the copany to have 10 hours of battery life and has a stand-by mode that will last a full charge 230 hours. Nice features too with Skype support and voice recognition software–but can’t hide the fact that it looks uglier than the early casette Walkmans.
