MOTOROLA DROID IS SMARTPHONE WINNER FOR MOTO
Before Motorola was a non-contender in the smartphone race but thanks to the Droid, the mobile manufacturer registers a big blip in the most recent AdMob figures. Moto has taken a bg 6% chunk of ad requests AdMob has recorded, and there’s no reason to suspect that 6% comprises of any other handset besides the best smartphone of 2009. I wonder how good Motorola Droid 2G will be.
The iPhone takes more than one-third of the market with 36% but the Google Android smartphones are making important headways. Says Moconews: “Motorola’s successes also signal the strength of the Android operating system. In North America, Android’s share grew throughout the year reaching 27 percent in the fourth quarter, which was by far the highest penetration in any region.”
According to experts, smartphones will dominate the handset market in the future. Even if iPhone loses marketshare there will be a lot of marketshare left to make Apple happy for a long time.
