IPHONE 3.2 SDK BETA 3 COMES WITH FRONT-FACING CAMERA, ZOOM, FLASH SUPPORT; CLUES TO 4G IPHONE SPECS?
New unearthed evidence has been discovered in the recently released iPhone 3.2 SDK beta 3 confirming that iPhone OS 3.2 does indeed come with video chat support, but more importantly, it also adds a new twist to the whole video conferencing/iChat storyline.
Apple has now included some provisions in the API to detect whether the device comes with a front-facing camera, zoom, and flash or not. Needless to say, these will probably be the new set of features included in the next generation iPad as well as the 4G iPhone.
On a similar note, these icons were also dug up from the new iPhone 3.2 SDK. Based on the size, these icons are clearly meant for the iPad. This may serve to bust previous rumors that the 4G iPhone will come with a front-facing camera complete with video chat support, but remember, there’s also the possibility that Apple is just holding back on making the iPhone-specific version of this same OS available to the public to avoid further leaks on their upcoming iPhone. Anyway, this will all be confirmed once the 4G iPhone officially debuts (hopefully) sometime in June.
