Supporting previous rumors, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Microsoft will indeed announce Windows Mobile 7 (aka Windows phone 7) at MWC next week in Spain. They didn’t divulge anything new as far as Microsoft’s latest mobile OS is concerned, but they did go on to say that Steve Ballmer will be in Barcelona to make the grand reveal. Earlier reports suggest that there will be two versions of Windows Mobile 7 - Windows phone 7 BE (business edition), and Windows phone 7 ME (multimedia edition). We’ll know soon enough if this is true or not.

In related news, Microsoft’s Project Pink was also mentioned in the report. These new phones won’t be making an appearance at MWC, but it is expected to brighten up Verizon Wireless and Vodafone store shelves this coming spring.This is all we have for now about Project Pink, but we are optimistic that more details (and hopefully a pic as well) will surface in the coming months heading towards its supposed release date.
